Wondering who's behind the scenes? Meet our wonderful team.

Kimberly Dey, Chief Executive Officer Kimberly is the lead officer in charge of facilitating business and determining, aligning and pursuing the strategic vision of NumberEight (N8).
An entrepreneur by nature, Kimberly also operates a portfolio of several other business entities including an accomplished sport horse breeding business, which is an extension of her love for horses, competition and sport. Her horses have earned numerous national and international awards and Kimberly, herself, is an established rider who was the World Champion Amateur Hunter Rider for two consecutive years.
Kimberly is very active in the community serving on numerous boards, as well as working as the Vice President for her father’s private charitable organization, the Charles B. Wang International Foundation.
Originally from New York, Kimberly fell in love with the islands, making it her home in 1993. She was honored as a Pacific Business News “40 under 40” award winner in 2003 and also as a finalist for its “Women Who Mean Business” award.
Her drink of choice is Propel, lemon flavor, and she is an excellent cook – something she inherited a love for from her father, who she says is her hero.

Ruben Carrillo, President & Chief Production Officer Ruben is the company officer in charge of overseeing daily video and broadcast production services for NumberEight (N8). He serves as an active leader and the individual responsible for much of the communication, content and management in all areas of production.
He is an original founder of Liquid Planet Studios (LPS). Prior to founding LPS in 1997, Ruben was a shooter with local news channel KGMB for about a year. He originally came to Hawaii from the West Coast where he began his career working for the San Luis Obispo, California NBC affiliate in 1988.
Through his years working as a Director and Director of Photography, he has gained local, national and international experience working in places around the globe such as Greece, Mexico, Costa Rica, South Africa, Panama, China, Kuwait and more.
He has received many accolades for his work including an Emmy award, Telly awards and numerous other industry awards. Ruben enjoys playing soccer and claims to be quite good at it. But no one has witnessed his talent and we remain skeptical to this day about the rumored "soccer" skills.

Mia Noguchi, Communications & Operations Mia is the lead communications officer for N8. She manages the public relations, social media and internal/external communications for the company. She also assists with management for Liquid Planet Studios.
Her experience includes 15 plus years working in the area of corporate, government and non-profit public relations. Most recently she was the PR Director and Special Events Manager for the University of Hawaii System.
Before joining the university, she was Vice President for the Corporate and Public Affairs Division at McNeil Wilson Communications, Hawaii’s largest PR agency.
Mia is an Advisory Board Member for the American Diabetes Association, which forces her to play golf once a year. She also served on the Communications Committee for the Kapiolani Health Foundation Centennial Campaign.
In her spare time, you'll find her with her family, outdoors taking advantage of Hawaii’s ideal weather and world-renowned beaches. She is a fan of martial arts and watching cartoons, which she claims she watches only because “it’s what her kids want to watch.”

Susee Whitty, Finance Manager
The first thing you’ll notice about Susee is how tall she is. This is actually an illusion created by the crazy high heels she wears and the fact that she is stick thin. But don’t let her model looks fool you, she manages the books and stops us from doing stupid things that we might regret later. She’s beautiful and smart and we are lucky to have her.
Susee came to us from out of retirement, since she first retired years ago to become a full time mommy. Before that she was a property manager making big bucks. Well, the glory days of high rollin’ are over, instead of money, you have love and love’s better right? <--crickets chirping-->
Moving on then… Susee’s favorite color is pink and she loves anything girlie. She is also a candy lover, as evidenced by the jar of skittles on her desk. We believe if she had her way she would eat ONLY candy. But that’s totally not healthy so every now and then we make her eat real food for lunch.
To relax, she likes spending time with her family doing fun things outdoors. She needs this cause otherwise she’d probably kill some of us at the office who have a tendency to drive her nuts.

Kimberly Seko, Production Manager
Kim is joined the NumberEight (N8) team to assist with public relations and communications. However, she quickly became responsible for coordinating production projects for Liquid Planet Studios (LPS). As a result, she has become the production manager for the majority of the jobs handled by LPS.
Prior to joining N8, Kim was the Events Coordinator at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, College of Engineering under the Marketing and Public Affairs Office. She organized the various banquets, open houses and other fundraising and educational events.
She grew up in Southern California and has a B.A. in Communications with a minor in Political Science and is currently finishing her M.A. in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. (She actually completed her studies last year, but needs to defend her thesis. We’re on her butt to finish it this year.)
Kim has a passion for food and is a Hello Kitty maniac. Obsessed with each from a young age, she loves going on excursions to find new culinary treasures and unique Hello Kitty knick-knacks. She says she will “try anything once” and when stressed, baking is what relieves her tension.
Due to her passion for food, Kim forces herself to play in a recreational basketball league, attend Bikram Yoga classes and once in a blue moon, you’ll find her catching some wave on, you know it…her Hello Kitty surfboard.

Mike Tanji, Equipment Tech
Who is Mike Tanji? He is our production technician specializing in equipment. He provides the T.L.C. for all of our gear. He also shoots, carries heavy things, cleans and bakes -- well, sort of -- he frosted a cake for us once. Anyway, he's another up and coming star and recent grad of the Leeward Community College TV production school.
Prior to joining Liquid Planet Studios, Mike was a student, like Jordan, witha a passion for Television production. In fact, the two were classmates and now they are co-workers. Call it luck, call it destiny, but with our two boys on your team, it's a win-win combination.
Mike's favorite color is blue, he likes to eat fish and his drink of choice is water. Is there any questions why he's ended up working for a production studio called Liquid Planet? He says his business philosophy is "Follow your gut" and that the most important lesson he's learned is that "we fall, so we can learn how to pick ourselves back up again." As you can see, he's got a positive attitude and that's just one of the many reasons why we love him.
Early on, Mike earned himself the nickname Blackout. Although it is a very cool sounding nickname (it's actually a pretty cool helicopter in the movie Transfomers), that isn't why we call him that. Want to find out how he got his nickname? It's a secret you'll only discover if you hire us. We look forward to seeing you soon at Liquid Planet Studios.

Jordan Teruya, Creative Specialist
Jordan is our creative specialist at Liquid Planet Studios. He recently graduated with an A.S. in Television production from Leeward Community College and joined the team in April of 2011. His versatility, flexibility and creativity make him an asset to any production handled by Liquid Planet Studios.
Prior to joining Liquid Planet Studios, Jordan was a student and basically did nothing. Har, har, just kidding. Well, he was a student after all and students need to study so he did a lot of that. Now that he’s graduated, he’s putting everything he’s learned into the job except irrelevant things learned like the Quadratic formula. So it’s a good thing he studied what he loves doing.
Jordan was born and raised in Hawaii, and describes himself as a “jack-of-all-trades, but master of none.” His essential business philosophy is, “Get it done right the first time.” His favorite color is black and his favorite food is Spicy Ahi Sushi, though he rarely gets to eat it cause he’s on a strange diet that only allows him to eat the same thing everyday.
While we can admire his determination to get fit, we have a lot of foodies around here so we’re all working together to strike a happy balance. Besides, one cannot be creative on salad alone. Every once in awhile you gotta throw in a Manapua or Malasada, or in Jordan’s case, a spicy Ahi roll.

Chaslee Ikawa, Project Coordinator
Chaslee is the project coordinator with NumberEight, LLC. She only works part-time because she is finishing her last semester of college at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. It all began with an internship and we liked her so much we decided we wanted to keep her. Luckily, she liked us as much as we liked her (whew).
Her main responsibility is to assist in all facets of the business as needed. She does everything from research, support for projects or productions, updating our social media and websites, and more. Thank goodness we have her because she is young enough to understand all the crazy social media stuff that surrounds us today. Who would have ever thought websites called Facebook and Twitter would ever become something so impactful on how folks communicate?
In common with our equipment tech, Mike, Chaslee’s favorite color is blue or “shades of blue” and she also likes to drink water and Vidration, lemon-lime flavor. In common with Jordan, our creative specialist, she loves to eat spicy ahi. It’s no wonder why our team works so well together, we have tons of things in common!
She says her strategy for overcoming challenges, which she got from her mom, is, “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” And her essential business philosophy is, “everything happens for a reason. There’s always a positive outcome to each situation, sometimes you just need to look at it from a different perspective.”
Obviously, she hasn’t been bitten by the bug of cynicism yet and hopefully she never will.
